When a skater has completed the Skate School programme, joining the Club is the natural progression if the skater wishes to start competing in one of the main disciplines:

 
Freeskate
Synchro
Pairs
Dance
They must also become TC registered. This means the skater is a financial member of the Governing Body of Figure Skating in New Zealand (N.Z.I.S.A.) This enables them to compete in NZISA sanctioned competitions and take Medal Tests which are the means of progressing to  higher grades.

Centaurus skates at the Alpine Ice Sports Centre at 495 Brougham Street, Christchurch. The rink is one of the best equipped ice skating facilities in the Southern Hemisphere.

There are five classes of members:

bulletSenior: over 16
